sovereign AI noun
An AI system that runs on infrastructure you control, under the law you choose, on keys you hold, trained on knowledge you own, and that keeps working without anyone else's permission.
Sovereign AI from SuperServer.ai
Sovereign AI runs on hardware you control, is trained on your products, services, people and markets, and keeps every document, question and answer inside a boundary you set. No two are alike, because no two businesses are.
Paid pilot from £3,950. Owned systems from £12,000. All prices exclude VAT.
Connected through one approved gatewayUpdates and any cloud service you allow pass through a single gateway you control. Every crossing is listed and logged.
Offline behaviour shown for an offline-capable system that has passed our written offline test.
Sovereignty used to be something nations pursued for their AI: their own data centres, their own models, their own rules. The same principle now fits in a server room, or on a desk.
sovereign AI noun
An AI system that runs on infrastructure you control, under the law you choose, on keys you hold, trained on knowledge you own, and that keeps working without anyone else's permission.
| The test | Rented cloud AI | Sovereign AI |
|---|---|---|
| Where does it run? | In the provider's data centres, wherever they choose | On your premises, or on dedicated hardware in a UK data centre you choose |
| Who holds the keys? | The provider runs and administers the service | You hold the administrator rights and encryption keys |
| Whose rules apply? | The provider's terms, which can change | Your policies, under UK law and contracts you sign |
| Who owns what it learns? | Your files and history live on their platform | Your knowledge, memory and tuning are assets on your hardware |
| What if a supplier disappears? | Models, prices and access can change at short notice | The models and knowledge already on your system keep running |
Cloud AI is excellent, and for occasional or experimental work we will often recommend it. Sovereign AI is for the work you cannot afford to hand over. Your proposal records how your system scores on each test.
One
Your documents, prompts and answers are processed inside a boundary you define. Nothing crosses it unless you have approved the connection, and we map every data flow in writing before anything is switched on.
Two
Generic AI knows the internet. Yours will know your products, services, people and markets. We teach it in three layers, and everything it learns belongs to you.
What it learns stays on your hardware. It is never pooled with other customers or used to train anyone else's model, and it leaves with you if you ever leave us.
Together they compound. The longer you use it, the more it knows, and none of that value leaks out.
Two firms can buy identical systems and end up with entirely different AIs, because each one is shaped by its owner's knowledge, people and way of working.
Knows your precedents, clause library and matter procedures. Ethical walls carry through to every answer.
Knows your engagement letters, tax procedures and client histories, with access set by partner and team.
Knows your catalogue, specifications, pricing rules and the markets you sell into.
Knows your methods, past proposals and research, so new work starts from your best previous work.
Each option keeps your data, keys and knowledge under your control. They differ in where the hardware lives and what happens when the outside world goes quiet.
Hybrid set-ups, where chosen tasks use a cloud service, are available by agreement. Your proposal lists exactly what stays inside your boundary and what does not.

Everything in Care, plus monthly knowledge updates, new-model evaluations and agreed improvements, so your AI keeps learning your business.
Prices exclude VAT, which individuals buying privately pay at 20%. They also exclude electricity, premises or network upgrades, hosting, paid software licences and travel unless stated. Hardware prices move with supply, so quotations are dated and valid for a stated period. No 24/7 cover or uptime guarantee unless agreed in writing. Hardware and model names belong to their respective owners.
Sovereign AI is not always cheaper than a subscription, and we will tell you when it is not. Put in your own numbers.
Excludes VAT, electricity, extra usage or API charges, and the value of the knowledge you keep. Not a quotation. A workstation typically adds tens of pounds a month in electricity.
Tell us the work, the people, the data and the constraints. If cloud or hybrid would suit you better, we will say so.
We map how your organisation works through agreed interviews and demonstrations, recorded on tools that stay inside your boundary. Process owners approve every map.
We prove one workflow on representative data, against success measures agreed in advance.
We install the system, load your knowledge, set permissions and teach it your products, services, people and markets.
It passes written acceptance tests, your people are trained, and you receive everything needed to run it without us.
Sovereignty is easy to claim and harder to prove. These are the tests your system has to pass.
For offline-capable systems, before handover, with every outside connection removed, we:
If anything needs the internet, the system is not finished.
New open models arrive every month. Your system sits behind a stable interface, so a candidate is checked, tested on your own data, released to a few users and rolled back in minutes if it disappoints.
Your knowledge and memory stay exactly where they are.
You hold the hardware, model files, configuration, source records, exports and rebuild instructions. If we, a model publisher or a cloud provider disappeared tomorrow, a competent engineer could keep your system running.
Ownership you can walk away with.
The questions we would ask in your position.
Not here. It means passing the five tests above, and your proposal records how your system scores on each one, including any outside connection you choose to keep. If a design does not pass a test, we say so in writing.
Yes, in three controlled ways. Your documents become searchable knowledge that it cites. Approved facts and corrections become organisational memory. Where testing shows a clear gain, we fine-tune it on your house style and specialist vocabulary.
It does not quietly rewrite itself from every conversation. Changes to shared knowledge go through an approval step, so a casual remark never becomes company policy.
No. Your knowledge, memory and any tuning stay on your system and belong to you. They are never pooled with other customers' data or used to train anyone else's model.
No. Discovery maps how work flows so the AI can support people in their roles. Recordings happen only by agreement and with transparency, stay inside your boundary, and are never used to score individuals.
You own the hardware, your data, your knowledge base and the custom work we deliver. Model files and third-party software are licensed on their publishers' terms, which we record for every model we install.
On many everyday tasks, especially questions about your own documents, today's open models perform very well, and the pilot measures this on your real work. On the hardest general reasoning, the largest cloud models may still lead. We show you where the line falls before you buy.
Yes, if you choose the offline-capable design and it passes the offline test. Web search, cloud email and other online services stop while you are disconnected. It still needs power and working hardware.
It helps, because personal data stays inside your boundary, but it does not make you compliant on its own. Lawful processing, retention, staff transparency and access control still matter, and we work alongside your advisers.
Your system keeps running. The exit pack gives you, or any competent provider, what is needed to maintain and rebuild it. Spare parts, paid licences and hosting may still depend on their own suppliers.
Sometimes. For heavy, sustained use by a larger team, owning often wins over three years. For light or occasional use, subscriptions are usually cheaper. The calculator above shows the trade-off with your own figures.
Describe the work, not the hardware. We will come back with a written view.
